Day 1 London
Claim your bags and make your way to your hotel on the Underground, using your Oyster Card. You have the rest of the day to explore London on your own.

Day 2 London
Today you have the morning and most of the afternoon free for personal exploration of London. In the late afternoon, make your way to 22-24 Bride Lane, near St. Paul’s Cathedral. This is the home of the City of London Gin Distillery. Here you’ll have a tour of the distillery while discovering the history of gin in London and learning about the small-batch gin making techniques used by this distillery, which opened in 2012. A 3-flight gin tasting follows the tour. After this experience, you have the evening at leisure.

Day 3 London
You have the day at leisure for shopping or sightseeing. In the late afternoon, make your way to Blackwall Lane in Greenwich, to the home of Meantime Brewery. Your two-hour tour starts at 7 p.m. Following the tour you will have a tutored tasting of a selection of their award-winning beers, including London Pale Ale.

Day 4 London
Now that you’ve sampled gin and beer, it’s time for tea. This morning make your way to Giuliana’s Kitchen at 10 Acacia Place near Regents’ Park (nearest Underground station: St. John’s Wood). In your afternoon tea class, which starts at 10am, you will receive step-by-step instructions and recipes for making scones, shortbread, and specialty sandwiches. After the baking and preparation, you sit down with the instructor and enjoy a full afternoon tea in the sitting room. At the end of this excursion, you’ll receive a six-page booklet containing recipes and step-by-step instructions. Following the tea class you have the rest of the afternoon free to explore London further. It may be of interest to learn that the famous Abbey Road Studios are very near the teashop!

Day 5 York
This morning, travel by Underground to Kings Cross Station, where you’ll board your first-class train coach for the two-hour journey to York. After finding your hotel, you’ll just have time to find the starting point for your Afternoon Tea Tour of York. This 3½ hour guided tour will show you the best places for tea in the city. In addition to having a full tea and cheese-pairing workshop, you’ll learn a few things of archaeological interest about the city, visit some specialty retailers and tea purveyors, sample sweet and savory treats including Middle Eastern delicacies, and find the best scones in York.

Day 6 York
This is your last full day of this program, so let’s make is special by taking a guided tour of three local breweries. Your tour begins at 11:30am when you’re picked up at the York Rail Station. You’ll see some beautiful countryside as you visit three local breweries selected for their excellent products. This 3½ hour tour will make you an expert on Yorkshire brews! Rest of the day at leisure.
